Using WordPress to Create Your Website

Have you ever considered using WordPress to create your website? WordPress is currently, the quickest way to get your site up and running. Just about anyone can do this since the task only calls for a 1 click install plus theme installation. Once you have WordPress installed, you only need to set up permalinks, add a new theme, and set permalinks. It’s really that simple. Today, we’ll be showing you how to use WordPress to create your site:

First of all, visit the main website for WordPress. Here you will be able to download all the files and upload them via FTP. If you want to do this without having to go through the upload process, use Godaddy. You will need your own hosting and domain in order to pull this off. Once you have picked up a domain, go to your application center. Here you can install WordPress with just 1 click.

Godaddy’s application form has an area which allows you to put in your WordPress database information. Also, you will need to specify where you want WordPress installed. Do you want to make it a part of the whole site or just want it on your blog?

Now that you have everything set up, it should take anywhere from 5-20 minutes to access your site. Go to it’s main address, followed by “wp-login.php”. Here you will be able to login and start adding content to your site. Once you are in the dashboard settings, go ahead and make a new post. Each post should have keywords that you placed in your title. It should also have keywords in the body as well.

To add an image, you can upload then drag it anywhere in the post. If you want it as a thumbnail, you must assign it below. You’ll find columns below the post where you can do this. Also, another way to add a thumbnail is through “Add a featured image” on the right. Some themes may have them while others may not, so it really depends.
